Summer Bean Salad
1. Take Pasta Fagioly soup kit and set aside pasta and spice package.
2. Soak beans as per instructions.
3. Boil beans in 4 cups of water until tender (approx. 1 hour). Drain and rinse with cold water.
3. Combine spice package with 1/4 cup red wine vinegar and 1/4 cup salad oil.
5. Toss with beans and add chopped peppers and cherry tomatoes.
Crisp with a Twist
Add a new twist to your classic apple crisp by topping sliced apples with our Fruit & Fiber Granola.
Instructions:
1. Peel, core and slice 4 large apples and layer in oven proof baking dish.
2. Combine 1 cup of everything nice Fruit & Fibre Granola with 2 tbsp melted butter or margarine.
3. Spoon topping over apples.
4. Bake at 350 F for 30 minutes until apples are tender and topping golden.
5. Serve warm with ice cream, frozen yogurt or on it's own.
Honey Garlic BBQ Sauce
Brush on chicken wings, ribs or shish-kaboobs for a wonderful sweet garlicy flavour.
Instructions:
1. Add one pkg of everything nice Roasted Garlic Dip Mix with 1 tbsp of each cider vinegar & soya sauce, 1/3 cp of honey & 1/4 cp of water.
2. Simmer on medium for approx. 10 minutes until thickens.
Beer Butt Chicken
Need:
1 4-5 lb. chicken
1 pkg. Northgate Pub Rub
1 can beer (tall preferably)
2 Tbsp. butter
Instructions:
1. Drink 1/3 of can of beer.
2. Add 1/3 of spice package and butter to beer in can. Place can in metal roasting pan.
3. Place chicken on top of can so that can fits into chicken cavity. Sprinkle remaining spices on the outside of chicken.
4. Place pan in middle of BBQ and roast for approx. 1-1.5 hours or until chicken is done.
5. Carefully remove chicken from beer can. Empty contents of can into serving dish and use as gravy for the chicken.
